Recently I received an invitation to join a new network marketing company. It wasn’t actually launched yet but I was told that I could reserve one of the top positions right now before they entered their pre-launch phase.

Pre-launch phase? If this wasn’t their pre-launch phase, what was it?

I was told that they were about to enter their alpha phase and then they would go on to their beta phase. Now if all was going according to plan, they would then enter their pre-launch phase.

My immediate thought: are they insane?

The product, I was told, would be a nutritional fruit juice. Just what we needed, another nutritional drink. The network marketing industry has around 4,800 network marketing companies. Of these, around 2,000 market health and wellness products. I seriously question whether the market needs another kick-a-poo joy juice entrant.

But this business of alpha test and beta test before they enter their pre-launch stage is ridiculous. And, in my opinion, puts reps in a precarious position that the network marketing will be born and its product will actually be brought to distribution. Think of how foolish we would look if we brought our groups with us to such a company and they failed to launch.

There is nothing wrong with getting involved with a relatively new and probably unknown network marketing company. This may present a great opportunity for you as they eagerly want to get off the ground and realize that in order for the company to succeed, their reps must succeed.

Steer clear of network marketing companies who are in the various launching stages unless you are prepared to lose your money, time and energy invested.

P.S. Just checked my Twitter account (AndyAcci for those who want to connect on with me on Twitter). Guess what I found? An invitation to pre-enroll in a pre-launch of a travel network marketing company. No thanks. I don’t expect this person to know that I spent 18 years in the travel industry. BUT I do expect this person to know the current state of the economy as it impacts and suppresses travel.
