For most of we online network marketers, gone are the days of being out every night either doing business presentations or attending business presentations with our prospects. Gone are the “meetings after the meetings” where we reps attending a hotel or function room presentation would grab a coffee and swap out tales of how our superstar prospects will no longer return our telephone calls.

With the advent of webinars and conference calls, live events are mostly a thing of the past. Oh, sure, there’s a convention here and there but nothing like the five or six special weekend events where thousands of us would gather in a convention center and listen to speakers go on and on and on.

Pretty much the closest thing we come to human contact with our group members is an occasional phone call or an email message. Of course there’s always texting if you can figure it out. (If not, have one of your kids show you how it’s done.)

And, with a number of our network marketing companies operating in a number of countries, there’s always Skype to handle our communication needs.

There has never been so large a market for we online network marketers. It is estimated that there are just over one and a half billion people on line with more and more coming on board daily. (As I like to point out during my training, with over a billion and a half people online, I’d say the chances are pretty good that you could find a dozen or so motivated prospects willing to join your business.)

Network marketing has always been a system of relationships. Is a relationship easier to build over a cup of coffee than over the internet? Probably. However grabbing that coffee to go over our business opportunity is less feasible today with all of our busy schedules. This leaves us with the only option available: building a trusting relationship over the internet with someone around the corner or around the globe. As Zig Zigler points out: If people like you they’ll listen to you but if they trust you they’ll do business with you.

So instead of tuning up your instrument to join the Network Marketing Lonely Hearts Club Band, tune up your technological communication skills to relationship build with your current and future team members…wherever in the world they may be.
